Alex McQueen's Fall Fettish

July 17th 2008 02:14

Alexander McQueen is no stranger to designs that some would call, different, some might even call different an understatement. Nevertheless, Alexander McQueen is still one of the best designers to hit the design scene. I try to keep up to date with current and past designers, their shows and upcoming collections and fashion trends. His couture lines has graced many star's and celebs, especially during their red carpet appearance. His famous petty-coat skirts, high, roughled collars, renaissance look, is growing and fast. Peep his foreseen Fall 08 Collection, previewing the best of Alex McQueen for this upcoming fall season.

Having someone like Julia Roberts or the like wear your design, can't be all that bad. Alexander McQueen is also a trendsetter of the fashion world, implementing designs that other designers might be afraid to experiment with. McQueen's opaque use of old and new English style and medieval twist is, should I say, very appealing to it's audience, I know I'm appeased He is steady of the verge of fashion and knocking traditional design door down, one door at a time.

Not to mention his scorching hot and onfire, 21st century Men's line. I would have to say that he is one of my favorite Men's designers today. I'm a woman, so ultimately, I am very partial to Women's clothing, fashion and design, but I love to see a well-dressed, fashionable man. It shows that he fashion is a relevant part of his life, thus, our culture is relevant.

I love the outfit above, the fur, the plaid leggings, real nice!

Thank God, he has also a 'ready to wear' line available, so that regular peep's like you and me can dress 'McQueenish.' From his couture, to ready-to-wear line, from his Women's to his Men's line, Alexander McQueen is definately a fashion force to be reckoned with.

See this design above, awesome! Multi-colored, haultered arabic-style top, with flowing bottom, with cream chiffon pants. Isn't this something you would wear on an evening out with the girls and all of your BFF's? Maybe not, but I myself, would definately wear.

All Fashion, All the Time

The Gap, Inc. Get's New Thread's (LINK)

July 12th 2008 03:42
The Gap, Inc., known for it's wide variety of preppy-hip-chic style clothe's, is not deviatiing far from their fashion script. Yesterday, July 10, The Gap, Inc., disclosed it's upcoming Holiday 08- Winter/Christmas clothing. Now, Banana Republic and Old Navy are also part of the Gap's major family. Even though, each store's style differ, they're still fabulous and they've unleashed a glimpse of what we have to look for from all three this Holiday season. See this from Banana Republic....

Banana Republic's, the top-notch line of the Gap, implementing a whole lot of glamour this holiday, with satin's, sparkle, glitz, bling and other shiny things. Mind you, this is all on their clothing. Cool. They'll have bright colors, traditional class, where holiday socializing and partying is concerned. If you're going to a lot of office events or even just fam events, you can DEFINATELY go this way!! Check out this from The Gap...

I see the Gap pretty much kept to their distinctive style. Preppy All-Star's, something my cousin whose in college would definately wear this fall. Plaid's, blazer coats, knit scarf's the whole shabang. I love it though, it give's a new chicness to their already fabulous and famous line. They're transforming, like most companies this 08/09 season. Face, in fashion and design, you definately have to keep up with fast moving, ever-evolving trends. Now check out this from one of my personal favorite's, Old Navy, yeah baby!!

For sure, Old Navy is sticking to it's trademark fav's, with flannel pajama's, sleepwear and scarf's. I love traditional Old Navy, don't you. I really love their price's above all. You can look like a basic supermodel or a somewhat, runway supermodel chick with Old Navy at really low price's. But, see this coat above from Old Navy, love it and a must have this winter. Quarter length, off-white coat, with multi-colored knit scarf, Old Navy at it's finest, just with a litter more, CHIC. Love it! Can't wait til Winter....

Buzz Light-year quoted, 'to infinity and beyond' in the oh so popular toy story movie. Cool! I like far out things, you know, the kind that make me think and stretch my brain. Do you believe in aliens? Life on other planets? Spaceship? Believe it or not, we are headed towards space age thinking, living and technology..... Example: exploring Mars and other planets.

It's cool to me, why, because I'm definately ready to conquer untapped space age FASHION! That's right, FASHION! Designers has given us a preview of one of the top new attributes and upcoming fashion trends for this fall's collection scene and it is...dun dun dun dun.....

COLLARS! Designer's such as Alberta Ferretti, Jill Sander and others are incorporating this far out idea into upcoming fashion. I believe the term is also called 6267 and these floatation devices called Collars are going to be a def must have this coming fall. Many of the designer's are going more Brittish in their collar style, some are also going more old world, renaissance in their style. But whatever area they gear to, trust me, you'll find something that fit's you and that you like and would love to sport this coming fall. Alberta Ferretti is a designer and clothing line that is at the top of their fashion game now. Many celeb's can be caught wearing it's items and looking great I must add.

Don't get me wrong, some designer's missed the mark in some of their 6267 designs(trust me, we will def discuss in an upcoming blog), but this piece by Alberta Ferretti is magnifique!!! For all of you fashionLove the fall coat style 6267 collar and fabric, very nice. This is something that I would definately wear. My friends, I often look for runway fashions(or the like) that is fabulous on the runway that I can walk off the runway in and wear to work, down the street, at home, church, even out to party. I love versatile fashion------

Kanye West is one of my fav current rappers/hip-hop artists. I've followed his career since he first hit the rap scene. I actually mourned with him when his mother passed a while back. He has
been Vuitton's poster child since he first began rapping, placing ad's in his music and sporting Louis in his video's. It's well known that he own's part of the Vuitton fashion empire, but, 'What's up Kanye, who knew you were thinking about designing?'

Kanye is currently working with designer's at Louis Vuitton regarding an upcoming men's shoe line. Sweet! I love the idea, but I'm indifferent. Kanye has a unique style, but have you seen his shoe's? His SHOES! They're not always as 'chic' or 'on', fashion wise, if you get my drift. I'm really hoping that the top designer's at Vuitton really help Kanye gear this new line's design in the right direction, OK

Couture NO-NO's

July 3rd 2008 20:14
I've been really looking forward to this fall's design collections. I've been playing close attention, specifically to my favorite designer's, Christian Dior, Lanvin, Donna Karen, Marc Jacob, Alexander McQueen...to name a few. Many designers has already displayed their intentions for this fall's fashion trends, including it's couture fashions, by presenting prestigious runway/fashion shows.

I've seen a quite a few of the latest couture shows, and I must say that I've been well pleased, but all has not pleased me. Designs that is. For the most part, all of the designer's have designs that are great in their own right, but every now and then or more often than not, we viewers see a model prance down the runway, struting her best runway walk in something that looks like it came straight from the cartoon 'Jimmy Neutron' itself... No really! This is a horrible shame...It disgraces all that great fashion has to offer and if a designer is not careful, meaning, but putting items that don't make the cut, it really hurts their runway pres

What's your fav runway walker?

June 29th 2008 04:19
I love to watch all model's, those from different backgrounds, ethnicities, build and social status, strut their stuff on the runway. I have a little bit of modeling experience myself and I know the feeling. Such a great feeling it is, to walk the runway, hundred's of eyes totally on you, the breeze through your hair and yes, the feeling of top-notch designer clothes touching your skin. Oh what a great feeling!

For all of us who LOVE designer clothes, it gives the wearer such a great feeling. Because I can relate and I personally know the feeling of walking a runway, I respect all models that do this as a profession. I especially like watching my favorites to do it up on the runway. To be my favorite, I look for that 'it' facial look, build, culture, etc. I especially look for a particular runway finesse and grace, when walking the runway

Fall's Mono-trend (LINK)

June 28th 2008 04:03
I've been looking forward to this fall's collections. I love all seasonal wardrobes, from summer to spring to fall to winter. Because of my passion for fashion, it's difficult for me to totally glory in and enjoy the current seasons fashion (Summer) without anxiously anticipating the next season's (Fall) collections.

I recently received a sneak peak at some of the most famous designers' plan for this Fall 08 collection's and trends. The Monochrome dress/design is nothing but new to the fashion world. It first hit the scenes in the 80's and like other styles and design's from the past, snook back to center stage on the design platform. I am a true fan of couture and past trends being revamped into 21st century design and fashion

Want to be Rufflicious? (LINK)

June 20th 2008 16:15
Want to be Rufflicious!

I remember as a little girl, growing up in the 80’s, my mom would put these little light colored dresses on me all the time, and all seemed to have large, small or medium ruffles…uh….I thought ‘THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST HIDIOUS THING EVER, I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL I’M ALL GROWN UP, SO I DON’T WEAR THIS STUFF
