Fashion And The Big

November 18th 2011 11:46
You ask, what is “HR”? It's an acronym for a procedure that most of you are already familiar with, HAIR REPLACEMENT! Before you start feeling all creeping on me, hear me out. Millions of people have suffered and are currently suffering from some type of hair loss. Whether it be from Alopecia or Cancer Chemotherapy treatment, women and men throughout the world have to live with the shame of losing their hair. Popular belief is that only “old people” lose their hair. This is far from the truth. While watching one of your favorite models, fashion diva's, entertainer or professional athlete, you may stop to admire their flawless and seemingly perfect hair, but do you really know if that is their hair or extensions? The answer to this question is NO!

The truth is most stars wear extensions or “weave” as a method of protecting their natural hair from the damage that is so often incurred from their rigorous schedule. Most do not wear this because of hair loss but some do. The fashion industry is an industry that is solely based on the outward, physical appearance. From head to toe, individuals are judged by their physical attributes. Understanding this, we can definitely see why so many that do suffer from various scalp and hair loss ailments, choose to hide this issue. I personally would like to see more of those in the entertainment and fashion industry come out of the closet on this issue. I believe that this will help the millions of children, women and men suffering from the same ailment as they do. What better than to have your favorite star motivate and encourage you by showing their natural hair and scalp?

Many have chosen natural remedies, topical treatments and hair placement procedures. Although all of these may work, the quickest way to seeing a dramatic change is through hair replacement. Many can not afford this treatment but most of those who have had it done, believes that an individual can not afford to go without it. I guess the ultimate decision is up to each individual and their personal struggles with living with this condition. Thankfully, due to the decline in the economy, thousands of hair replacement surgeons are making this procedure easy and affordable.
