Calvin Klein bore's in 09

April 9th 2009 14:39
When you hear the name 'Calvin Klein', you remember. You remember the trademark iconic jeans everyone use to wear in the 80's and 90's, and if you're a seasoned person, even the 70's. Calvin Klein is a matriarch of American fashion. Founded in 1968, CK has had a lot of different head designers in charge of making a statement with the brand Calvin Klein or CK. Since it's creation, they've expanded to not only making coats, jeans, couture, ready to wear and beauty(fragrance), but also handbags and accessories. They normally bring a sort of classic American look blended with couture and specialty.

Because I love what Calvin Klein stands for(and I love the way their jeans fit me), I try to keep up with their new fashion, designs and spreads. After viewing their RTW(Ready To Wear) Fall 2009 Runway fashions, I have to say I basically fell asleep at my computer.BORING! Believe me, I know that there is an appointed amount of boredom when viewing a runway line but I really did expect a little more from Calvin Klein's line. I feel it was mediocre. Mostly earthen tones and colors, such as white, tan, cream and black, it was a bit dead. Color is what brings fashion to life. A great mixture of color actually. I like earth tone's but I believe that CK should have added a little more color and a more diverse design line. See my pics....

Most of you probably already know that this design is a up and coming trend amongst the design scene. Similar to box shaping around the hips, it pioneers a futuristic feel, remember the Jetsons Many stars has worn this look, i.e. Victoria Beckham.

This look was my favorite design from the Calvin Klein RTW line. A comfortable, loose, free, fitting dress. It's something that all of us would wear any day of the week. I believe these two were the most trend setting designs of the entire line. Below, I've selected a few more designs from the Calvin Klein rtw 09 line......

Mostly all of the rest of the entire line resembled the above 2 designs, but some were in white, tan or cream. Boring! I need to see a more diverse design line. I need options. But regardless of CK missing the mark entirely, he is still one of my fav's.

Scary Fall fashion is back!

April 5th 2009 20:19
I know you're wandering "what the h** is she talking about?" Well, scary is back! Now scary to me, might not mean scary to you. Scary fashion is back for the Fall 09. Many top notch designers displayed their thoughts and styles for the fall of 09 at the L.A. Fashion week show a week ago. Designers ranging from MartinMartin to Laeken were present, presenting their fashion guru mojo. The way that most of these designers has presented Goth and Grundge is scary to me people, now this is just my opinion. I'm sure that I will probably get a couple of bad commented emails after this blog, understandable. Fashion has stated that goth, dark, grundgy is what's going to be hot this fall. I don't get it I do believe that fashion is evolutionary and ever evolving, but goth is not one of my fav styles or looks. I do value some goth inspired looks. These are the type of looks I gag upon:

I am a fan of some of their t-shirts and some dark make up features. I do also like the smoke look and I love black, it's so trimming But if your style makes you look like a blood sucking vampire or someone that has just rose from a grave, you should turn around and redo your do! Not acceptable!!!!! I can't express this enough!!! I don't care who your designer is. It could be Christian Dior(one of fav's) or someone of their stature, you shouldn't look like this. I am a personal believer in wearing what looks good to me. Most of the time what looks good to me, others like also. I am not as prone on the designer or label as I am in tune to the look of the ensemble. I'm just saying that some goth looks take their style to the extreme. No one should wear 5 layers of black shirts, black trench, knee high black boots, black makeup, black glasses, and black accessories. You need color somewhere in there honey I did my research on goth. Wiki states that it is based on the Victorian look. Ok, I like the Victorian look. This is a pic of goth that I definately can get with:

This picture of a design at the forefront of Balenciaga's Fall 08 Runway ready-to-wear show, speaks a thousand words. Seem's I don't need to say much here, but I LOVE...
Even his couture line is something to be amazed by(a lot of couture designs do not impress me people). This dress is so hot guys, if you touch her, you will burn your finger. The split's highness, use to be forbidden, no more honey.

Balenciaga, a fav designer, implements and transcends top fashion with merging a touch of his spanish heritage with modern fashion and design. His Fall 08 show, displayed in Paris, included, a remake of 'the little black dress', peplums, armband, fifties style, sack dresses, couture, samurai jackets, urban attire, skinny pants, velvet and taffeta tops, WOW!

This Fall's 08 Balenciaga's ready-to-wear collection, has such variety that you'll will leave with definately more than on piece. Every model look beautylicious, from make-up, to attire, and oh, the accessories. The accessories promoted a bold spanish and or cultural flavor. Models wore different jewels, designs ranging from bold, shiny, traditional jewelry, to textured pieces and the perfect mixing of the two. Including, pearls, gems, crystal type pieces and others.

These accessories that were worn by Balenciaga's models extraordinarily enhanced each piece in Balenciaga's line. From the couture, straight, skinny pants to the remarkable redo of a black dress was down right phenomenal! Balenciaga is strictly a great and fabulous designer, from his Women's/Men's line, to his shoes and handbags. Now wonder, all the top celebrities shamelessly flaunts his pieces. This designer make's Fall 08 really something to look forward too!

Alex McQueen's Fall Fettish

July 17th 2008 02:14

Alexander McQueen is no stranger to designs that some would call, different, some might even call different an understatement. Nevertheless, Alexander McQueen is still one of the best designers to hit the design scene. I try to keep up to date with current and past designers, their shows and upcoming collections and fashion trends. His couture lines has graced many star's and celebs, especially during their red carpet appearance. His famous petty-coat skirts, high, roughled collars, renaissance look, is growing and fast. Peep his foreseen Fall 08 Collection, previewing the best of Alex McQueen for this upcoming fall season

Buzz Light-year quoted, 'to infinity and beyond' in the oh so popular toy story movie. Cool! I like far out things, you know, the kind that make me think and stretch my brain. Do you believe in aliens? Life on other planets? Spaceship? Believe it or not, we are headed towards space age thinking, living and technology..... Example: exploring Mars and other planets.

It's cool to me, why, because I'm definately ready to conquer untapped space age FASHION! That's right, FASHION! Designers has given us a preview of one of the top new attributes and upcoming fashion trends for this fall's collection scene and it is...dun dun dun dun

Can everyone have her 'Goodies'?

July 6th 2008 04:54
Singer Ciara, we all know her, "Tha Goodie's Girl" (lol). Well, it seem's, she's stepping out into mainstream stardom even more so nowadays. It's reported that she's signed a modeling contract with agency Wilhelmina, a prominant-upscale agency. She's also looking into launching her own clothing line via Steve and Barry's. Steve and Barry's is great store, with trendy items at great low prices. Great look Ciara! Steve and Barry's also carrie's Sarah Jessica Parker's line "Bitten" and Stephen Marbury's line "Marberry".

Kanye West is one of my fav current rappers/hip-hop artists. I've followed his career since he first hit the rap scene. I actually mourned with him when his mother passed a while back. He has
been Vuitton's poster child since he first began rapping, placing ad's in his music and sporting Louis in his video's. It's well known that he own's part of the Vuitton fashion empire, but, 'What's up Kanye, who knew you were thinking about designing?'

Kanye is currently working with designer's at Louis Vuitton regarding an upcoming men's shoe line. Sweet! I love the idea, but I'm indifferent. Kanye has a unique style, but have you seen his shoe's? His SHOES! They're not always as 'chic' or 'on', fashion wise, if you get my drift. I'm really hoping that the top designer's at Vuitton really help Kanye gear this new line's design in the right direction, OK

Couture NO-NO's

July 3rd 2008 20:14
I've been really looking forward to this fall's design collections. I've been playing close attention, specifically to my favorite designer's, Christian Dior, Lanvin, Donna Karen, Marc Jacob, Alexander McQueen...to name a few. Many designers has already displayed their intentions for this fall's fashion trends, including it's couture fashions, by presenting prestigious runway/fashion shows.

I've seen a quite a few of the latest couture shows, and I must say that I've been well pleased, but all has not pleased me. Designs that is. For the most part, all of the designer's have designs that are great in their own right, but every now and then or more often than not, we viewers see a model prance down the runway, struting her best runway walk in something that looks like it came straight from the cartoon 'Jimmy Neutron' itself... No really! This is a horrible shame...It disgraces all that great fashion has to offer and if a designer is not careful, meaning, but putting items that don't make the cut, it really hurts their runway pres

Fall's Mono-trend

June 28th 2008 04:03
I've been looking forward to this fall's collections. I love all seasonal wardrobes, from summer to spring to fall to winter. Because of my passion for fashion, it's difficult for me to totally glory in and enjoy the current seasons fashion (Summer) without anxiously anticipating the next season's (Fall) collections.

I recently received a sneak peak at some of the most famous designers' plan for this Fall 08 collection's and trends. The Monochrome dress/design is nothing but new to the fashion world. It first hit the scenes in the 80's and like other styles and design's from the past, snook back to center stage on the design platform. I am a true fan of couture and past trends being revamped into 21st century design and fashion

Pop Attire to the rescue!

June 28th 2008 03:19
Look out everyone!! A new clothing line is in the works and it's definately something anticipate. Singer Janet Jackson and brother Michael Jackson has a new line due to be issued this fall. Supposedly, Michael has hooked up with Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier to implement the men's clothing and Janet is pursuing the lingerie part of the line. When the line premiere's this fall, it will be carried by Kitson Couture, who is owner of Fraser Ross-a upscale couture gallary in LA.

I don't know about you guys, but ladie's, wouldn't you purchase a piece of nice lingerie and underwear designed by the queen of sexy, herself? Hell
yes!! I definately would. Now Michael has always been a 'trendsetter'. For all of you who are old enough to remember, remember when Michael was hot in the late 80's and everyone started sporting black and red leather jackets, with silver zippers, with a sequined sparkle glove

You can definitely tell that summer has officially arrived due to huge amounts of capri’s, sandals, sundresses and SHADE’S or should I say sunglasses. Now I truly love the look of summer and all that it has to offer, but one thing that upsets me is a nice summer attire look with the wrong shades or sunglasses. Sunglasses are accessories and therefore should enhance your entire look not diminish it.

I love Tiffany’s new line of eyewear! I admire that they have increased in their design of their sunglasses. The Fall 08 collection has a whole lotta BLING added to specific pair. I think that it is the cutest thing. Now for the past 6 years or so, I’ve seen other sunglass designer’s dib and dab in added sparkle and bling to shades, but often the bling was too bulky so it looked like shing or the bling was too little so it looked like nothing(ha,ha

Want to be Rufflicious?

June 20th 2008 16:15
Want to be Rufflicious!

I remember as a little girl, growing up in the 80’s, my mom would put these little light colored dresses on me all the time, and all seemed to have large, small or medium ruffles…uh….I thought ‘THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST HIDIOUS THING EVER, I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL I’M ALL GROWN UP, SO I DON’T WEAR THIS STUFF

The Maxi Dress

June 19th 2008 03:47
I don't really know what all of you out there think about this style of summer dress, but I LOVE IT!!!!

Remember, Fergie wore a canary yellow maxi or Grecian style dress to this year's Grammy Awards. Kristen Bell, Halle Berry and many more have sported this upscale trend
