Have you EMERGENTIZED your house?

March 12th 2012 20:07
Well, with all that's going on in the world today, who wouldn't be interested in obtaining emergency equipment, solar generators, long term food storage, water filters and more? Although some might consider the initial though or perception of stocking up on these items "conspiracy", they are far from the truth. The truth is, nothing will last forever including the international government as we know. Furthermore, considering the massive increase in the annual number of fatal and disastrous weather calamities, I personally believe that all citizens should sincerely consider investing in proper emergency equipment.

For example, if a tornado was to hit your local community, do you have what it takes to protect you and your family? If by happen stance, a fire broke out in your apartment, do you have the proper tools to escape effectively? What about an emergency blackout? All of these things are very important and all should consider purchasing them for their homes and for loved ones. They can be fairly inexpensive as well. You can purchase from your local drug, trade, supply or convenience store. Of course, some items must be purchased from either specialty or hardware stores but most of the basic items can be purchased from local stores within your area.

Antique

March 11th 2012 15:58
Most of you are already familiar with the term "Vintage" and "Antique", right? Just know that just because an item is OLD, doesn't necessarily make it "antique" or "vintage". One of the best ways to find out if an item would be coined "antique" or "vintage" is to do a little bit of research!!Furthermore, one of my favorite vintage and antique trends is Victorian jewelry from the Victorian era. Have you ever wondered if you could dress or style your wardrobe after Queen Victoria or some of the historical English monarchs? Well, you can with patience, diligence and the studying of what to look for. Also, can you picture yourself engaged? Would you love for your husband to buy you an antique engagement ring? Well, you could if you encourage your hubby to shop for gorgeous antique engagement rings through local shops and more!

I love going to local thrift, consignment and resale shops.I am often able to find a wide range of beautiful, chic, vintage items. I love looking at fashion, household items, pictures, handbags, shoes and especially JEWELRY!!

When shopping online or offline for antique jewelry, shoppers must have keen eye for vintage. I also thrive on visiting local estate sales. At estate sales, the beloved family members of a deceased loved one, open the doors to their loved one's home in order to sale their most treasured items. You can often find "hidden treasures" here. Some have learned that an item that they had bought, seemingly worthless, for a small amount, such as $10, came out to be worth thousands of dollars!!! Yep, hidden treasure it is.

One of the best ways is to look at local circulars and discount papers. Where I live, I've found 50% off coupons to my local Goodwill. When you shop, know that vintage and antique items has a certain "look" about them. The look is more than "old" but lets just say "quality old". Also, most are heavier in weight. You can usually judge the weight by using your hand as a mediocre scale. Also, make sure to check the condition of the items. If chips or pieces are missing, check to see if they can be reasonable fixed at an affordable price. Also, make sure that it would be worth your time and effort to have it fixed. Only buy and item with flaws if you know that what you're buying is valuable and or its a must have.

Jazzy, Spicy

February 2nd 2012 16:09
I was looking at an ad the other day and it mentioned "couture avatar". I thought to myself, "what". This prompted me to research further to take another look. After searching around, I finally figured out what it was and meant. Avatars, or virtual images, can be used in a variety of places online. Most of us have one and are familiar with them but a "couture avatar"..

I figured that it did have something to do with fashion of some sort. After looking at this website, I found that I could fully customize my avatars wardrobe, not just their physical features and appearance. They have fashion terms and "lingo" for days! Terms that traditional avatar platforms do not have. Most are limited so I found this amazing and intriguing to say the least. It was also a IMVU platform that allowed my fully customized and fashionably chic avatar self to play games and interact with other peoples avatar or virtual images.

Here's a link to a Youtube video: http://youtu.be/Cfk1OORZNcc

Another great aspect was the fact that I could play for free imvu credits...yeah!! After a while, I had to, let's just say, "back up" because could probably become addicting, right?

With Spring Break approaching, millions of international students are impatiently awaiting their first opportunity to "kick it!" Oh but what to do amongst so many?
During my school years, I opted to travel to nearby family members and even to Cancun. Now, more and more students are choosing to visit more culturally diverse and rich locations, such as Vancouver, India and the Grand Canyon. If visiting Vancouver, students find that a good Vancouver Hotel is hard to come by. In downtown Vancouver, there are many luxurious hotels but few hold up to the standards of Loden Hotel. Being that most students are on "shoe string budgets", their affordability could be a definite plus.

I know that my title is very catchy right! On the other hand, most of you wonder "what is she doing in her title?", or "those things have nothing to do with each other". Well, on the contrary my friend, they ALL have everything to do with each other.

First of all, we are living in the 21st century and we've finally learned of how our actions will effect our children, grandchildren and their children. We've learned the damage that carbon dioxide play on our atmosphere, as well as filling our landfills with chemicals. Various industries have switched to green printing instead of utilizing traditional wasteful means of printing. Our children are learning about recycling to reuse materials instead of throwing them away. It was only a matter of time before this awareness entered the fashion arena as well

Cymax Furniture Fashion SWAGGER!!

December 10th 2011 17:07
You ask "what is furniture fashion", well simply "interior decor" or "decorating". Yes, having fly and fashionable fashion is pivotal. I refuse to settle for a trendy wardrobe and when guest visit my residence, my housing decor and furniture is shabby and I'm not talking about "shabby chic". My children are all under the ages of 10 and let me tell you, our living area desperately needs an upgrade. I wish we could move into a house with a den area where we could send them there but "not happening"! I do more than 70% of my shopping online only due to the great discounts most online stores offer. I've been looking at stores like Cymax for my new furniture. A friend told me that they are currently offering a holiday discount. Of course, I also like looking around on Ebay because of the great finds they have as well. One of staple go to places for great finds, discounts and money saving items is Craigslist.

Is Fashion VAIN?

December 10th 2011 00:46
Okay people. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and we were talking about the state of the current fashion industry, runway, print, you name it. She stated that the problem with it is the increasing vanity of it all. For those of you who do not fully understand "vanity" let me first say that I am not referring to
double bathroom vanities in your bathroom but in a much deeper sense. The webster's definition of vanity is proud, arrogant, worthless, meaningless, empty or shallow. I do agree that much of the entertainment, arts and fashion industry is filled with superficial and shallow men and women whose only desire is the reach stardom, fame and reap as much cash, diamonds and billion dollar houses along the way. On the other hand, there are some in the industry who value their craft and they pursue their dreams because of their love of fashion. Regardless of anybodies take on the matter, fashion has been around since Adam and Eve chose to drape their loins with animal skin or leaves in the Garden of Eden. It's a mainstay in our society and culture. Besides, we all have to wear clothing don't we?

Some are blessed with exquisite talents. Many use their design gifts which open the door for them to find various jobs. From fashion to automotive design jobs, those gifted in the arts can really find their unique niche in this bland world. I need a little color in my life! That's why I heart the season of spring. During the week of September 8-15, at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park. Filled with drapes, silhouettes, vibrant colors, the "who's who" in the fashion the fashion design world, came out to showcase a glimpse of their upcoming spring collection.

Discount Tickets, IN THIS BAD ECONOMY?

November 21st 2011 12:15
My hubby and I's 10 year wedding anniversary will be coming up soon. Also, Christmas break is a couple of weeks away. We are in DESPERATE need of a getaway. With the 4 children, work, ministry and business, it is so hard to find some me time, let alone US time! Since the economy is so bad, we've been trying to find some ticket prices that rock. A neighbor told me about a couple of airplane ticket comparison sites, similar to Expedia.com. My mom told me about Spirit Airlines, which claims to provide 9.00 ticket fare. I don't know. Then there's this thing about where we're planning on going. Of course, I would really love to go buy some Adam Lambert Tickets.
